IS IT HERE? HAS IT ARRIVED?
Basically it kind of has.
Comic Foundry, the newly-print magazine, shipped its first issue on paper last week.
The cover looks like this:
And overall? It's pretty darn good. It's not perfect; not every page is completely indispensable. Hell, there's a sidebar interview with Avril Lavigne; if you can get past that, it's pretty sweet.
Yeah, it manages to be the magazine that acknowledges Scott Pilgrim (big time), the works of Jason, the Walking Dead, and plenty more. It can talk about books published by Fantagraphics in a positive tone and not be ashamed by what makes superhero books cool at the same time.
I like it.
It appears that it will be shipping with a quarterly schedule, but the next issue will be in the spring. I'll try to keep you apprised of the situation in terms of Previews and what have you.
